Beginning Coupon Clipping

Ok so here's what I learned about Extreme Couponing.

They say to get at least 5 newspapers so you get the same 5 inserts make sure you put the "like Packets" together. (ie. smart source, red plum, p&g) then make sure you date them from the day you received them and that's how you file them. no clipping or cutting til you need them. Keep the Manufacturers coupons for 5 months.

Then there is a website that is free you can use to check the sales it will tell you what's on sale for how much and what coupons to use to get extreme savings or to get them for free. It will also tell you if there is a web coupon you can print out but make sure to check out your store policy on whether or not they except printed coupons.

The Website is http://www.grocerysmarts.com/

Make sure you put the region and what store you are going to go to. then if you click the start button it should make the list grey so you can high light the items you want then hit shrink and print your list. clip your coupons attach them to your list and your ready to go. no need for a huge tacky coupon album no need to check every coupon and keep rearranging them for their expiration dates.

Once you start collecting your inserts be patient because the rock bottom sales are usually not at the same time as when the coupon issued. They said its usually in 3 week cycles.

** note if you have a large family then you'll want to collect more inserts to accommodate your needs. I believe they said this was based on a family of 4.**

I also found www.thekrazycouponlady.com  is a great site it breaks down what coupons to use at what stores and what websites to use to print coupons.  If your printing coupons make sure you check with the store to see if the honor internet coupons I learned this the hard way. My local Vons does not accept them.
